Put Dielectric grease or tuner-lube inside the switch plug - then push the pins through the switch plug. The grease will keep moisture out and helps installing the pins into the plug
One pin on the back is longer then the others. This is to help line up the other pins. If it hits the inner door skin, the regulator or any metal, it can be cut off with wire cutters. The pin is copper - DO NOT use a cut-off wheel.
The red backing plate on the switch plug is not designed to be removed. If you remove the the red backing, there will be nothing to hold it back in place. With a small pick the terminals can be removed - only if necessary.
DO NOT press in on the switch levers when installing. Apply pressure around the bezel only.
