Diesel engines consume much more air at a higher rate than most gas vehicles. The speed of air flow is referred to in cubic feet per minute (CFM). The higher the CFM, the more difficult it is to stop the contaminants from getting into the vehicles engine. S&B designed a 2 different filters specifically targeting the diesel marketplace.
